Please note: 96% of orders arrive overnight. Delays typically occur with rural addresses, new subdivisions, or during peak periods like Christmas and Valentine’s Day. To avoid disappointment, we recommend selecting an earlier delivery date at checkout. It's better having a Birthday gift arrive early as apposed to late!
We use NZ Couriers for nationwide delivery at a flat rate of $12.50. 96% of orders arrive overnight. Delays typically occur with rural addresses, new subdivisions, or during peak periods like Christmas and Valentine’s Day. To avoid disappointment, we recommend selecting an earlier delivery date at checkout.
For Auckland-wide deliveries, we use a point-to-point courier service. If you’re ordering from our Gifting range, there’s no need to be home to receive your delivery.
We can arrange this for you! Unless your order qualifies for free shipping, you will be sent a payment link to pay the courier fee and we will send your order out on the next available date.
We ship your orders everywhere NZ couriers delivers. If your postcode isn't working, try the next postcode closest to you.
You do not need to be home to receive your order, but, your local courier will need access to the property. Sweet Talk is not liable if the package is undeliverable due to an error in address or no access to the property.
We use NZ Couriers for all nationwide deliveries. While they have a 96% success rate for overnight shipping, delivery on your selected date is not 100% guaranteed and is outside of our control. To avoid disappointment, we strongly recommend choosing an earlier delivery date.
Please note: We cannot offer refunds if your jars arrive too late for consumption due to courier delays.
We do not offer cancellations or refunds. Orders cancelled due to a change of mind are not eligible, as production time, materials, and platform fees are committed once your order is placed.
We cannot issue refunds for courier delays or force majeure events. However, we can postpone your order or issue store credit valid for 12 months. In rare cases where a refund is approved, a 20% fee will be deducted to cover our processing and platform costs.
If your order is to be delivered in Auckland and you have selected "delivery" on the cart page, you can select a weekend day for delivery.
NZ couriers do not operate on weekends or public holidays. Therefore, only Tuesday - Friday delivery is available.
Cake Jars have a room temperature shelf life of up to 4 days and a chilled shelf life of up to 2 weeks.
We recommend storing your cakes jars in the fridge and consuming within 2 weeks as soon as they arrive if you plan to save them for a later date.
Each Cake Jar is the equivalent of 2 cupcakes.
Cakes and Cupcakes FAQ's
Unfortunately we are not able to take on bespoke orders at this point in time - only what is available on our website. We cannot quote a cake based on a photo of someone else's work.
We have many customisable options for each custom cake but we cannot change their design (e.g. Naked look, Black buttercream), only what is listed under the options available.
The courier service we use to ensure safe delivery of our cakes and cupcakes covers areas as far south as Papakura and as far north as Dairy Flat. Unfortunately, deliveries beyond these points aren’t possible at this time.
To keep the kitchen running smoothly and make sure every order meets our highest standards, we stick to our trusted recipes, buttercream colours and portion sizes. In our experience, the variety in our size, colour and flavour range should meet most requirements.
If you selected 'Pick Up' at checkout but are unable to collect your order, unfortunately we’re not able to offer refunds, store credit, or delivery. All our products are made to order, and as we’re not a storefront, we cannot resell uncollected items. Please double-check your location and shipping method before placing your order.
You’re welcome to arrange an Uber or courier to collect your order during our opening hours. If you need to collect it the following day instead, just send us a text to let us know - we’re happy to hold it until then, as long as it's within our regular hours.

No, sorry. The decorative finish creates an uneven surface that doesn’t suit writing - and we don't want to ruin your gorgeous cake with our terrible handwriting!
While we do create some vegan cakes and can also make most of our cakes with No Added Gluten (available as on option on the product page, where possible), we cannot specifically cater for any nut allergies or gluten intolerances as we work in a very busy and very small kitchen, so while we take the utmost care with each and every cake we make, there is always a chance of cross contamination with allergens.
Yes! Almost all of our cakes are halal. The only products that are not halal are ones that include cream cheese in the ingredients list. This includes the following flavours across our range: Vanilla and Blackberry, Red Velvet, Carrot cake. Please check the individual product ingredients list (on the product page or in our Menu & Allergens page) for more information.

By booking and paying a deposit of any amount via the online store or otherwise, you are automatically agreeing to our terms and conditions, including granting our courier partners Authority to Leave your parcel at the stipulated delivery address.
